THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY: 1st/3rd Shift Quality Lead
  • Lead QPT activities on the production floor to ensure efficiency of the team.  Maintain effective communication with QPT’s, Shift Supervisor, Toolmakers, Lab Technician, etc. regarding the quality function.
  • Assist in resolving quality issues with Quality Engineers, Operations Management, QPT’s and Toolmakers.
  • Schedule QPT coverage for assigned shift including overtime as needed and communicate accordingly.
  • Assist in interviewing and selection of quality personnel on assigned shift.
  • Provide overall guidance in the training of quality & production personnel; One-on-one mentoring and quality coaching.
  • Coordinate daily staffing and work issues with the Operating Unit to ensure coverage is maintained for all active production equipment.
  • Support the performance appraisal process by providing input to the Production Quality Manager.
  • Isolate/report all non-conforming product.
  • Review charts for proper response to out-of-control conditions.
  • Label conforming product as ready for shipment.
  • Fill in as back-up for QPTs when necessary.
  • Generate ECR’s as appropriate for inspection changes.
  • Actively involved with internal audits, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure smooth transition and communication between shift operations.
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Previous experience in the metal industry.                                                    
  • Previous supervisory & training experience.
  • Experience using PLEX manufacturing software / strong computer skills.
  • Exposure to ISO/TS or IATF quality systems.
  • Working knowledge of SPC, GD&T, APQP
